Date set for extraordinary council meeting

Date set for extraordinary council meeting

Next week an extraordinary meeting of Pembrokeshire County Council is to be held following a requisition that I presented to the council chairman with the support of four other councillors.

The chairman has agreed to the requisition and has made arrangements for the meeting to be held on Friday 6th September at 10am, County Hall.

The requisition is as follows:

That an extraordinary meeting of Pembrokeshire County Council is convened to consider, as a matter of urgency, the adequacy and future prospects of the authority’s recently-adopted Local Development Plan [specifically policies GN.31 and GN.32 and any other aspect of any other policy so affecting gypsy and traveller-related planning matters]; following a recent Planning Inspectorate appeal decision on a gypsy application in which the appointed Inspector stated that the harm of the proposed development in an agricultural field in the open countryside was outweighed by the council’s “ongoing failure of policy” and granted full consent.

Cllr. Jacob Williams

Cllr. Tony Brinsden     Cllr. David Bryan

Cllr. Tessa Hodgson     Cllr. Gwilym Price

Yet another failure of policy. Good luck with your representations Jacob.

Jacob for the benefit of those reading your article please inform us of the wording of policies GN31 and GN32.

Jacob, would it not be a good idea to précis the current blog of Old Grumpy’s on your website in order to give his extraordinary revelations as wide an airing as possible?

  • Malcolm, the link to the page where the LDP can be downloaded from the council’s website is below, where all policies are contained in one document rather than separately:

Sydney, I’m always glad to plug the old duffer. Times are hard and he needs all the readers he can get. Go to http://www.oldgrumpy.co.uk, readers!

  • I could forgive “old buffer”, but “old duffer” I take as a declaration of war.

Just remember Jacob, I know where you live.

Sounds like the sort of threats a “well known Pembroke Dock councillor” used to make!

  • Keanjo

Hey you two, stop bickering. We need you both in order to bring County Hall to its senses.

  • Keanjo,

“Bickering” doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings towards the young upstart.

If b and d were close to each other on the keyboard I could have passed it off as a typo, but, as they aren’t, I am taking it as a deliberate insult.

Unfortunately pistols at dawn is now illegal, so I’ll have to think of some other way to satisfy my honour.

Be assured, revenge will be swift and terrible.

Perhaps I’ll post up a scoop – that’ll put him in his place.

  • Have your say...
